Dr. James J. Purdy has served the Meridian community since 1975. He and his wife, Sherry, have been married for 55 years and share a large, loving family of six grown children, 20 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and a great-grandson expected in September 2025.
With over five decades of experience, Dr. Purdy has delivered thousands of babies, performed countless surgeries, and provided dedicated care to women across East Mississippi and West Alabama.

Following his retirement from Ochsner-Rush at the end of 2024, Dr. Purdy has embraced a new phase in his medical journey — one focused on wellness, comfort, and patient-centered care.
He is now seeing patients at Pampered Bodies, offering personalized services in a relaxed, spa-like setting.
